Before Coaching

I am Johanna, born and raised in Nice, France, and lived in many cities before I decided to settle down in Berlin. I always loved to travel, but even more so, to experience a city, feel its heartbeat and vibrance, the people, and what drives them.

After I studied in Canada for three years, I worked in Paris as a sales manager in a marketing agency for the same amount of time. I moved to Frankfurt from a day to another and started from scratch again. After a few mini-jobs, I finally got the opportunity to move to Berlin and went for it.

For several years, I was employed as a marketing and branding specialist in fast-paced environments for natural cosmetics and superfood brands, thrusting me into the world of health and wellness for personal or professionals. Although I was deeply immersed in this industry, at the time, I lacked the tools and knowledge to practice self-care, which I now realize was sorely needed.

During this period, my stress levels were pretty high, although I was not paying attention to this fact. My enthusiasm for my job was so, that I pushed myself relentlessly, beyond my limits. However, with hindsight, I now recognize that I was in need of proper self-care measures to alleviate the pressure and nurture my well-being.

The Shift

After experiencing a tragic loss of one of my dearest loved ones, I was compelled to reevaluate my career path. The depth of my pain prompted me to adopt a different perspective on life, and to seek purpose and understanding through a more spiritual lens.

Following my arrival in Berlin, my curiosity about yoga, meditation, and other Eastern practices grew. It was through my exploration of Reiki, a Japanese healing modality rooted in the energy approach, that I gained much-needed clarity and a renewed sense of direction. This ancient healing practice enabled me to reflect on my life journey and gain insight into my deepest desires.

My Journey Into Holistic Life Coaching, Mindfulness and Yin Yoga

In 2020, I completed my studies as a Holistic Life Coach and Mind-Body Practitioner at the Mind Body Food Institute. The training was excellent, but it wasn't until I began coaching others that I realized something was missing. Coaching could prompt us to delve into the past to understand how it shaped our present or set future goals to achieve. However, I found myself asking, what about now? What about building a strong foundation of self-care, mindset, wisdom, and acceptance before embarking on any significant goals?

This led me to pursue further education and training as a Mindfulness Coach with Happiitude. I soon discovered that mindfulness was the key to unlocking a deeper understanding of the present moment and cultivating the foundation of self-knowledge that I had been searching for.

As I continued to deepen my practice of mindfulness, I realized that the body holds within it a wealth of memories and ressources. To harness this, I obtained certifications in Meditation and Breathwork, followed by Yin Yoga in 2022 with the Loka Yoga School. These practices allowed me to tap into my body's innate wisdom and release trapped emotions, leading to a deeper sense of peace and self-awareness.

Overall, my journey has taught me the importance of building a strong foundation of personal self-awareness, mindfulness, and embodiment before striving towards any significant goals. By honoring our body, levels of energy and practicing self-awareness, we can unlock our full potential and lead fulfilling lives.
